Become a valued member of our community
Discover what it means to be a part of the Oasis Community Group. Whether you're looking for connection, influence, or simply to support our mission, you'll find a place here.

More than just attendance
Being a member of the Oasis Community Group means aligning with our core values and supporting our mission. It's not just for those who attend every week; it's for anyone who shares a commitment to building safe, healthy, and connected local neighborhoods in Pinhoe, Devon. Our community model is built on a "passion to include."
Members are invited to align with core Oasis principles, which emphasize inclusion, equality, healthy relationships, hope, and perseverance. You do not need to follow a specific faith; people of all faiths or none are equally valued. We encourage personal growth by practicing nine specific character traits: being compassionate, patient, humble, joyful, honest, hopeful, considerate, and fair.

Your influence and deeper connections
While anyone is welcome at Oasis, formal members and dedicated supporters gain a distinct layer of influence, deeper community integration, and tailored personal development. Membership shifts you from a passive service recipient to an active co-creator of the community.
As a member, you can join local Oasis Hub Councils, giving you a direct voice to shape and vote on local services and community initiatives. You'll actively participate in feedback loops that leadership uses to improve our physical spaces and projects. For younger members, we offer dedicated youth voice and leadership platforms, giving them agency over decisions affecting their local neighborhoods.

Simple ways to join our community
Becoming a member of an Oasis Community Hub group is a simple, tiered process designed for inclusion. You don't need to pass a strict test or commit to complex paperwork. The entry point matches your preferred level of involvement.
The standard process breaks down into three easy pathways:
The informal path: Just show up
If you simply want to belong, meet people, and access activities, there's no formal application. Just walk into an open session at our location on Victoria Road in Pinhoe. Chat with a Hub worker or volunteer, give them your name, and you're instantly part of our community fabric.
The activity path: Fill out a basic registration form
If you or your family want to register for structured projects, such as community food pantries, youth mentorship, or holiday clubs, a basic registration form is required. This helps us ensure we can provide the best possible experience and resources for everyone involved.
"Joining Oasis Community Group has given me a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. The support and kindness I've found here are truly invaluable."
